Conducted a poetry workshop that assisted the community in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula to explore their joy through poetry.

The goal is to have each participant create one or more poems and perform them for their peers.

This is one of the 3 workshops as part of the Movement of Joy

Worked in partnership with Shea’s Education Department and local high school English teachers to introduce students to performance poetry.

Instructed an hour long advance level poetry workshop which required participants to write and present their original work for an audience their peers based on the information that was provided.

Pure Ink Poetry Slam Team

In 2018 at the National Poetry Slam in Chicago, IL, lead the team to their second Semifinals appearance and a 9th place finish out of 72 teams from around the world. This the highest national ranking that any team from Buffalo has ever had.

In 2017 at the National Poetry Slam in Denver, CO, lead the team to their second Semi-finals appearance and a top 50 finish out of 72 teams from around the world.

In 2016 at the National Poetry Slam in Decatur, GA, lead the team to their second Semi-finals appearance and a 9th place finish out of 72 teams from around the world.

Preparing team by holding weekly practices/workshops focusing on writing and performance while providing feedback to better improve their content and the way it is presented.

UB Speaks Club @ University at Buffalo

Provide critiques to small groups of writers to help develop style, voice, and presentation.

Discussed pieces individually with Poetry Slam team members to further mastery of performance.
